Faenza Golf Club has more than 20 years of activity (celebrated in 2011). Over the years it has grown steadily, moving on from being a promotional 9-hole practice course with FIG Italian Golf Federation certification to become a par 35 course set in greenery at the foot of the Faenza hills. It is a technical, entertaining and fast camp. The alternation of narrow holes, bounded by distinctive tree plantings, and broader ones with lakes and bunkers means that every stroke must be played carefully and with great skill. The presence of a resident flock of storks that fly majestically overhead makes playing here, on this delightful course just outside Faenza, even more enjoyable.
TECHNICAL DATA: 9 holes, par 35, men’s 2,700 metres, women’s 2,445 metres, 35 metres above sea level.
FACILITIES: practice course (with covered and uncovered stations), pitching green, putting green, practice bunkers, golf club and trolley hire, pro-shop, club house with locker rooms, bar, large car park.
SEASON: open all year round, closed Mondays unless a bank holiday.
HOW TO GET THERE: Take the Faenza exit on the A14 motorway, then the first road on the right (Via San Silvestro), take the first exit at the second roundabout (Via San Pier Laguna) and continue, passing a roundabout, an underpass and two more roundabouts. At the end of Via Graziola turn right into Via Sant’Orsola.
NEARBY: the town of Faenza (2 km), Riolo Terme (15 km), Imola (15 km), Brisighella (12 km), Ravenna (35 km), Bologna Airport (55 km), Forlì Airport (20 km) and Rimini Airport (65 km).
